"There are darkness' in life and there are lights..."

“There are darkness' in life and there are lights, and you are one of the lights, the light of all lights.”

― Bram Stoker, Dracula

I thought this beautiful quote from Bram Stoker was a beautiful anecdote to this past weekend's event and the lovely couple I worked with; also not to mention the many twinkle lights that surrounded the Venue!

This time was a little different, while it was a Wedding, I was tasked with capturing the Wedding Reception with the extended family and friends the day after! It was held at the 1914 House Restaurant in Niwot, Colorado and let me tell you, it was perfect!

The family reserved the entire restaurant, including the upstairs dining and outside patio. With over 150 guests it made for some really amazing shots filled with love! Guests mingled and connected; reminiscing how they knew the couple or how beautiful the ceremony was. The couple waited to make their Grand Entrance just before dinner started and waved to all of their loving friends and family.

They made their way through the crowd, hugging and smiling as they went, thanking their loving guests for attending and celebrating with them. The amount of love for this couple flooded the atmosphere and truly felt like a celebration! Some events, to be honest, feel more like a technicality than a celebration, so this was a breath of fresh air!

Later in the evening, several friends and family members gave their toasts to the happy couple; full of embarrassing details and humor. But once all the jokes and laughter were through, the couple joined together on the dance floor for their second First Dance as a married couple. It was choreographed but they looked like they were having the time of their lives. With beautiful twirls and tender kisses, it was enough to make anyone swoon.

From there, the beautiful bride danced with her Step-Father and had her Father step in to finish out the dance. It was so touching and truly wonderful to see the strong connection to both.

Now our Groom's mother had a different idea of a first dance: she was half a step away from doing the jitter bug and waved around light sticks as they jumped around to OneRepublic's "Good Life." It was a nice, refreshing twist to the evening and opened the gateway to some serious party-ers who wanted to dance!

The food was delicious and the liquor poured through the venue as guests indulged and celebrated their hearts out. The music, provided by DJ Maestro was a mix of some fantastic and unique grooves to keep it upbeat until the very last seconds of the event.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting this couple and their families while being able to capture the love, happiness and special memories they will cherish forever.

It is the clients like these who reignite my passion for Weddings and Events in every way. Thanks to the Grabbs for making it one spectacular evening!

Thanks for reading this week's Event feature! Until next time!
