✨Magic Monday✨ - Styled Shoots, Engagements, & Miss Colorado Oh My!

Holy moly macaroni! How on Earth is it already March??? Daylight savings is next weekend yet it feels like New Year's was just last week...

Needless to say, we've been keeping busy enough to lose track of space and time, so I thought I would catch you all up real quick! Exciting stuff has been happening and even more exciting stuff is on the way!!

Since we last chatted we shot an anniversary session, hosted an Ice Castles Styled shoot, another Colorado Wedding Magazine cover/feature shoot, a marketing shoot for stills and video for Miss Colorado for America 2020, and an Engagement session! Mike and I are also in the process of buying a house (finally!) so that's definitely taken up a huge amount of time - between realtor phone calls, inspections, appraisals, and more... we're ready to just move in already; and just in time for Wedding Season to begin!! But not to worry, we'll actually be more centralized to better serve all of our couples across the state!

First off, the Anniversary Session was too much fun. Seriously, we kind of didn't want to leave. Erin and her husband hosted us on their gorgeous property up in Florissant for their session. Little did we know that their property had an overlook to die for of prairie views and mountain tops! We also had the pleasure of meeting their beautiful furry friends. I for one was dying to have a shoot -- winter time is so hard for me, and COVID slowed everything down even more this season- and this is just what the doctor ordered!

A week later, I had back to back styled shoots!

The first was another Cover/Feature photoshoot for the Colorado Wedding Magazine for our upcoming Summer/Fall 2021 Issue! You'll have to wait for it to come out to get all the juicy details, but I can share some behind the scenes stuff for now.

We were graciously hosted by the amazing Skylight venue in Denver, Colorado - with a rustic, vintage vibe, it was absolutely perfect for our session! I highly recommend the space and their venue Coordinator, Jill!

Hair and Makeup was artistically done by Glammed Up Designs - our go-to ladies for anything special like this!

Our upcoming issue will be highlighting wedding traditions in various cultures, so naturally we decided to highlight Indian culture and design for the cover.

The dress and gorgeous jewelry was provided by Anu with Mio Mora and we couldn't have asked for anything more stunning for our model, Tanya!

The floral bouquet, mala, and gajra were styled and provided by the exquisite Sky with Skyvanah.

Her use of unique materials and plants make her arrangements truly spectacular! In this case, she incorporated artichoke and kale to add some extra depth, texture and flare to this already stunning set of items!

I truly can't wait to show you the final shots!!

The next day, and funnily enough with the same model, we traveled our way up to Dillon, Colorado to the Ice Castles for a winter styled shoot! And in true Colorado form -- there was a high wind warning for basically the entire state with gusts up to 65mph on the day of the shoot! But we toughed through it and our trooper of a model made the Ice Queen look like a baby in the cold!

It was seriously like a fairytale -- a very cold, and windy fairytale but you get the point. While the park was way smaller than I ever anticipated, you can't really tell from the images. We were fortunate enough to reserve the private alcove where a nice little bonfire was built for us to keep warm! SO grateful for that, my fingers were purple and numb not even ten minutes in!

Two different dresses and fauz fur covers were use for this session, provided by the radiant AnaKacia with Averil Marie Collections, they were something out of a fairytale and fit absolutely perfectly. The intricate designs and stunning detail was enough to make anyone feel like a queen!

The stunning bouquet was provided by the magnificent Yana with Supreme Camellia and boy did she out-do herself with this one! Pinecones, cotton, Scottish thistles (my personal favorite!) and orchids made for the perfect wintery floral arrangement!

After catching our breath and editing the influx of images passing through our cameras, I was gearing up to shoot the pageant entry video and stills for Miss Colorado 2020, Juliet Abdel! A huge self-care advocate and stunning soul, I wanted to share her amazing story in a way that felt inspirational, motivational and emotionally moving. We ran all over the place to get imagery and footage: Union Station, RiNo, The Ranch Country Club, all over and finished just as a lovely blizzard hit the metro area and followed me all the way home!

I will be completely honest, I've dabbled in videography very little apart from a few marketing videos for my husband's studio, so I was extremely nervous to shoot these scenes. You can tell in the video I'm shaking a little from the nerves but thank goodness for image stabilization!! After all the nerves and getting more comfortable with my editing, I was finally able to take it easy on myself and prepare a great video!

The day after my adventures running around Denver, I had my first Engagement session of 2021 and I am telling you, I haven't been that giddy to shoot a couple in a long time! We went to the Bear Creek Regional Park in Colorado Springs just after the blizzard from my commute home the day before. Molly and Tim were adorable. They are quirky and they know how to laugh; my favorite attributes when it comes to engagement sessions! It was a little brisk but well worth it in the end! And even though we were in the middle of winter, there was a little autumn color left! I am beyond stoked to shoot their wedding in May!

Wooo. I don't know about you but that was A LOT. And in the middle of buying a house, packing, and moving - it's been a whirlwind and this month definitely isn't slowing down any! With a boudoir session, Engagement session, Elopement, Wedding and closing day on our house all within the next two and half weeks -- please keep us in your thoughts and send us ALL the good vibes!!

Surprisingly enough, with everything going on and coming up, we still have a lot of 2021 availability. SO if you or someone you know needs a photographer (or two) for their session or event, please reach out to us! We would be utterly delighted!

That's all for now, but goodness knows there is a ton to come, so stay tuned! Thank you, as always, for reading! Until next time!

Cheers!

Bex
